How does Zap Yeah work?
- Swing in any direction and a laser sound fires the instant you move, with a laser blast streaking across the screen.
- Swing again mid-sound and it restarts right away, so fast slashes and back-and-forth duels sound right.
- While your arm moves, a deep energy-blade hum rises and falls with your speed, then fades when you're still.
- Tap anywhere on the screen to fire a laser blast.
- Long-press, or use the Apple Watch double-tap gesture on supported models, for a villain voice clip.
What can you change in Settings?
- Sensitivity from 0 to 100%: turn it up for gentle flicks, down so only your hardest swings fire.
- Which laser sound plays.
- The hum and the laser animation, each on or off.
- The volume.
What do you need to use Zap Yeah?
An Apple Watch on watchOS 27 or later, paired with an iPhone on iOS 18.6 or later to install it. Once it's on your watch it works entirely there: no phone, no internet and no account.
What else do parents ask?
- How much does Zap Yeah cost?
- $0.99 on the App Store (in US or Canadian dollars, depending on your store). Family Sharing lets up to six family members use it.
- What age is Zap Yeah rated?
- The App Store rates it 13+, because its sounds and animations are about laser weapons.
- Does Zap Yeah need my iPhone nearby?
- No. It works entirely on your watch, with no phone, internet or account needed.
- Why doesn't a swing fire a laser?
- Turn the sensitivity up in Settings. Higher sensitivity means gentler swings trigger the sound; lower means only your hardest swings do.
- Does Zap Yeah collect any data?
- No. Firmin Labs collects no data from Zap Yeah, and the App Store privacy label says Data Not Collected.
Full details are in the Zap Yeah privacy policy.
