Frequently asked questions
It depends on the app. Once Upon AI runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18.5 or later. Are We There Yet? runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 26.2 or later. Zap Yeah runs on Apple Watch and needs a paired iPhone on iOS 18 or later. You'll always see the current requirement on each app's App Store page.
Once Upon AI is free to download and try, with optional in-app purchases for more stories or unlimited access. Are We There Yet? is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. Zap Yeah is a one-time $0.99.
Yes. Are We There Yet? is built for kids ages 4–10: no ads, no in-app purchases, and no data collected — everything runs on the device. Once Upon AI is made for families to use together; see its privacy policy for exactly what it shares to generate stories. Zap Yeah is a simple sound-and-animation toy with nothing collected.
Zap Yeah and Are We There Yet? collect nothing — they're fully on-device. Once Upon AI sends your story prompts to its AI providers to generate the text and pictures, and uses crash and analytics tooling to keep the app stable; full detail is in its privacy policy. We never sell your data.
It uses AI. Your prompts (the name, theme, art style and so on) are sent to AI providers that generate the story text and the illustrations, then the finished story comes back to your app. See the Once Upon AI privacy policy for who those providers are and what's shared.
Your stories sync through your own iCloud (CloudKit), so they appear on your other Apple devices signed in to the same Apple ID. They're stored in your personal iCloud — not on a Firmin Labs server. You can use the app with or without signing in; signing in with Apple unlocks some bonus features.
No account is required for any of our apps. Once Upon AI lets you optionally sign in with Apple for bonus stories and features like PDF sharing, but you can use it without an account.
Zap Yeah runs on your Apple Watch, but like most Watch apps it's installed and updated through the Watch app on a paired iPhone. Once it's on your wrist, the fun happens entirely on the Watch.
Yes. It's designed for exactly that. All 43 games work fully offline; no Wi-Fi or signal needed.
